FAQs

Do you offer free insulation estimates?

Yes! Contact us to schedule your estimate.

Do you remove old insulation?

Yes. Marshall’s Insulation removes and disposes of accessible insulation material for you at the time of removal and/or install with the exception of vermiculite or materials that contain asbestos, which require safe removal by a local licensed remediation company. Please contact us for more information.

Do you install attic fans?

An attic fan install requires electricity, so we can refer you to a trusted electrician who can perform this work for you.

I have R-30 in my attic and R-11 in my floors. Is that to code?

Oregon Residential Specialty Code requirements vary depending on structural framing and the age of the home or building (e.g., remodel retrofit or new construction). Call us and we are happy to help you with this question.

Do I need to have a permit to install insulation in my new home or building?

No, insulation inspections are included in your General Permit for new construction.

Can you install insulation in my walls after my house is built?

Maybe. It depends on the type of siding you have and interior wall finish. Please contact Marshall’s Insulation to discuss your project further so we can determine what we can do to help.

Do you insulate metal buildings?

Yes! We use different types of install methods depending on type of framing and use of building. Contact us for more information.

Do you have a minimum job size for insulation projects you do?

Marshall’s Insulation has a $600 minimum project fee. Most projects are covered by this minimum. But if you are unsure, please contact us to discuss your project needs further. We are happy to give you a free estimate.

Are there any insulation tax credits or insulation rebates available?

Yes! The Residential Efficiency Tax Credit offers homeowners the opportunity to receive a tax credit of 30% for insulation and air sealing materials installed in their primary residence—up to $1,200 in costs. The credit is available on a yearly basis until December 31, 2032. After installation, use IRS Form 5695 to apply for the credit. Learn more about federal insulation tax credits here.

We also work many local utility suppliers that offer rebates. See our Credits & Rebates section for more information. Also check out the U.S. Department of Energy’s Database of State Incentives for Renewables & Efficiency to see if you qualify for any energy rebates.
